Happy Friday!

Guess what today is May 1st! Lets start by singing the Months of the year song.

Lets make some beautiful May flowers today using shapes!

Here are all the goals we can work on with just one picture.
* Review shapes
*Review colors
*Practice drawing shapes
* Practice cutting out shapes
*Practice drawing objects
*Practice counting
*Practice writing words
*Practice printing your first name
Each student is at a different level so help your child as much as you need to and have them do what they can.


IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY PLEASE SEND ME A PICTURE OR VIDEO OF YOUR CHILD WORKING ON THEIR GOALS FOR THE WEEK.

IT IS GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND SO GET OUTSIDE AND GET SOME MUCH NEED SUN AND FRESH AIR. I KNOW I HAVE A LOT OF YARD WORK TO DO!!!

Good Wednesday Morning!

Today I am posting math and writing to try and meet some students goals.

I went over each students goals but if you have any questions just let me know.

Color and Shapes:

  • Sort by color. You could possibly use cereal in your cabinet. Fruit Loops are a perfect example or use toys and sort out red toys, green toys into stacks/piles
  • For shapes – Think of what you have in the house tops to cups/containers=circles, cards=rectangles, cut out cardboard or paper triangles.
  • Shape puzzles are perfect for sorting and matching.

Writing:

After watching and singing 5 little fruits draw a picture of our favorite fruit and have Mom or Dad help you spell the fruits name.

Tuesday is Math day!

Good morning everyone! Today we are going to work on identifying numbers and counting.

This is one of our favorite counting songs at school.

* Count as high as you can
* Find a piece of paper and a pencil and write down as many numbers as you can starting with number 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10…………………….
When you are done you are going to ask Mom or Dad to send me a picture,
If you are not ready to print the numbers on our own ask Mom to write them down and you trace over top of them.


I will be waiting to see everyone’s work today! 😉

Occupational Therapy Activities for the week!

Week 2 OT

Complete these OT activities throughout the week. The more you do, the more the following skills will improve. Descriptions are included above each exercise. 

  1. TUMMY THROW
  • To provide touch pressure to body from floor
  • To increase back and neck extension strength
  • To develop arm strength
  • To develop good eye tracking (roll ball)
  1. TURTLE CRAWL
  • To provide touch input to back from carrying an object
  • To increase body awareness
  • To develop upper body strength
  • To promote motor control by moving fast versus slow
  1. BOAT RIDE
  • To provide deep-touch pressure to body
  • To provide calming head movement
  • To promote language skills

Chant: “Rock the boat ‘til we laugh and shout, rock the boat ‘til we all fall out”

TACTILE ACTIVITIES

  1. Tactile adventure bins- cornmeal, oatmeal, water, sand, lentils
  2. Bath time- bubble bath, crayon soap, back scrub brushes
  3. Foam soap or shaving cream- draw, blow
  4. Sticky play- tape, contact paper, painters tape
  5. Kitchen time- mixing tasting, smelling, washing up

While playing with tactile materials, you can practice drawing shapes, letters, drawing faces, drawing a person, etc with your child. Talk about what you are doing and encourage them to engage in the play with you or with a sibling.

Good Monday Morning

Today’s activities will focus on letter sounds, alphabet Identification and printing first and last name. If students are not ready to print they can work on tracing letters.

Friday Fun Activity

Today we are going to make a spider by tracing just four of our fingers.

  1. Fold a piece of paper in half two times.

2. Trace four fingers only with the folded side facing you.

3. Cut out the hand with four fingers.

Surprise you now have two spiders to play with. Unfortunately because I have such big hands mine does not look like a spider really!
Here is the song that we play when we get out the rubber spiders but today you can use the paper spider you made or just any stuffed animal you can find. Great for learning body parts.
