The week of February 11, 2019

Will the snow ever stop!

Dates you need to know:

  • Thursday Feb. 14. No school for the P.M. class.  A.M. class will be going home at 11:45 instead of 11:15.  Students will be arriving home much later than normal.
  • Friday Feb. 15. No School Mid-Winter Break
  • Monday Feb. 18. No School Mid-Winter Break

Since we have been having snow days and days off we continued with the heart theme.

New Letter is K – Kangaroo, Key, King, Kite

We have been singing songs about shapes, counting to 50 and its almost time to celebrate the 100th day of school!

We have a writing center with doodle boards, paper and markers to practice letters and first names for those who are ready.

The snow days have been hard on all of us with following a routine and listening to directions.  It will be nice to get back to five days a week soon.  That’s if the weather cooperates!!!

  • WED. FEB. 6TH IS A LATE START FOR THE A.M. CLASS ONLY.  THE BUS WILL PICK UP STUDENTS ONE HOUR LATER AND ARRIVE HOME AT THE NORMAL TIME.
  • NO SCHOOL FOR THE P.M CLASS ON THURS. FEB. 14TH

STUDENTS MAY WANT TO BRING IN CARDS AND CANDY FOR THEIR FRIENDS.  EACH CLASS HAS 11 STUDENTS.

Due to the forecast calling for severe weather predicted to impact the afternoon commute, Dearborn Schools will be closed.

Week of January 21, 2019


I hope everyone is staying warm!  A good night for hot chocolate and a good book to read.  

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow – Mon. Jan. 21st – Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Tues. Jan. 22 – No school for the P.M. class – The A.M. class will stay until 11:45 because of busing.  Students should arrive home around the same time they did on Fri.

Theme of the week is winter clothing.  Coat, hat, mittens, scarf and boots

Students will work on putting on own coat (zip up coat), hat, mittens and scarf.  Let’s see who can get their name on the zipper club list!

Math – Counting objects and matching the objects to the correct number.

The Week of January 14, 2019

Important dates:

  • No School – Friday Jan. 18 for the P.M. Class – If your child goes to school in the A.M. they will be getting out of school at 11:45 instead of 11:15.  This is because of the buses.
  • No School – Mon. Jan. 21st. – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • No School – Tues Jan. 22nd for the P.M. class only – Teacher Professional Development

We are learning some new penguin songs.

We are working on completing 2-3 step activities and tasks.

Time to work on that Independent behavior. Students should be trying to put on their own coats, hats and gloves.

Happy New Year! January 7, 2019

I would like to Thank everyone for the wonderful gifts that were sent in.  You sure know how to make someone feel special.  I love my job and seeing your kids come in every day with a smile on their face is a big enough gift for me!  Thank you!

Week of December 17, 2018

I can’t believe it is already the end of the year!  It seems like school just started last week.  Time flies when you are having fun 🙂

I would like to let you know about the new paraprofessional I have in the classroom.  Her name is Afrah and she has been so helpful since starting last Tuesday.  The students are really enjoying a new person in the classroom.  Welcome Afrah!

Here are some dates that you will need to know about

  • Last day of school before mid-winter break is this Friday the 21st.
  • School will re-open on Mon. January 7, 2019
  • Fri. January 18, 2019 No School for the P.M. class
  • Mon. January 21, 2019 NO SCHOOL – Martin Luther King Day

This week I will be assessing the students and we will be having holiday fun activities!
