WELCOME BACK!  HOPE EVERYONE HAD A HAPPY AND HEALTHY WEEK OFF.

Late start tomorrow

Sorry for the late notice but tomorrow the A.M. class will have a late start.  The students will be picked up one hour later.

They will return home at their normal time.

Please remember to turn in the book report form by Thursday March 14th.

Theme this week is the book From Head to Toe by Eric Carle

Thank you if you sent in wipes.  I believe we are all set for the rest of the school year!

The week of March 4, 2019

Well we made it to the month of March!

That means spring is right around the corner 🙂

Dates to remember:

  • Wed. March 13th is a late start for the A.M. class only.  The students will be home at their normal time.
  • Sun. March 10th is daylight Saving Time – Spring clocks ahead one hour
  • Wed. March 20th is the First Day of Spring!  WE ARE READY!  BRING IT ON!!!!

Reading Activities for March is reading month

  • The first activity was sent home on Thurs/Fri.  Please read a book with your son or daughter fill out the red paper and return it to school.  The school is going to make a giant rainbow with all the papers that is returned.  Each grade level has a different color paper to bring back to school.
  • A student minute chart will be sent home on Tues.  Please fill out and return at the end of the month so your child will be entered into the “Bikes for Books” raffle and they will have a chance to win a Bike!!!
  • This week I will be sending home a sheet to be filled out about your child’s favorite book. Please answer the questions the best you can.  The questions are a little hard for preschoolers but the sheet is going home with everyone in the whole school.  Just draw a picture with your child about the book.  Return and they will be hung up on the lockers for all to see.

Theme:  Is the book The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle  – We will be decorating your classroom door with a spider web and spiders made by the students to be a part of the school wide – Decorate your classroom door with your favorite book!

Colors:  Brown and purple

Shape:  Shamrock for St. Patrick’s Day

Math:  Counting and number ID.

Opposites:  Empty/Full, Long/Short, Day/NIght

Dr. Seuss is Friday!

Reading month begins Friday, March 1st!

Let’s kick it off by wearing red and white in honor of Dr. Seuss Day!

Week of February 25, 2019

Date To Remember:

  • Wed. March 13th – Late start for A.M. only

Theme for this week and the month of March will be our favorite books to help celebrate March is Reading Month

The first book on the list will be Elmer’s Colors by David McKee.

We will have many projects relating to elephants and different color projects.

Don’t forget to turn in the February reading log.  This is a school wide requirement and preschool is also participating.

Reading Fact:  Reading books aloud to your child stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world they live in.  

This Friday March 1st we will celebrate Dr. Seuss Birthday which is March 2nd. We will be listening to and reading many of his books this week.

We will learn the color songs for Blue and Green.

In Math we will continue to work on different sizes, number ID and counting objects.

LAST WEEK I SENT HOME A LEADERSHIP SPIRIT WEAR ORDER FORM.

LEADERSHIP DAY IS COMING UP SOON AND THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO WEAR THEIR NEW SHIRT THAT DAY AND ANY OTHER DAY THEY WOULD LIKE TO.

ALL ORDERS ARE DUE TOMORROW!  JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER WITH THE SNOW DAY AND DAYS OFF.

The Week of February 18, 2019

One important date for the next month:

  • Wed. March 13th is a late start for the A.M. class

The theme for the rest of this week will be about keeping our teeth healthy.

We will learn a song about brushing our teeth called Brush your teeth @ super simple songs

Letter Aa is the letter of the week:  Apple, alligator, ant

New songs:  Alligator chomp and the Ants go marching

Math we will be talking about long and short and Counting to 50.

We will learn two new color songs:  white and yellow

Last week we learned red and pink for Valentine’s Day.

Thank you for all the wonderful candy that was sent in for Afrah, Ali and myself.

I big THANK YOU for the great treats, cards and gifts you sent in for the students.

WE HAVE THE MOST CARING PARENTS IN THIS CLASS.

In case you were wondering Mr. Ali has been subbing as the second paraprofessional for the last month in the classroom.  I would have introduced you sooner but I had no idea that we would be able to keep Mr. Ali for as long as we have.  The students are enjoying new the faces in the classroom.  I couldn’t even think about doing my job with Ms. Afrah and Mr. Ali.  Thank you!
