DATES TO REMEMBER

  • Tuesday October 11 – Picture Day – If you wish to purchase pictures please send in the form that was sent home last week.
  • Friday October 14 – NO SCHOOL for the P.M. Class – Teacher PD day

Lessons for the Week – Theme is All about FALL

LITERACY:

  • Book of the Week – Big Red Barn
  • Start the Handwriting without Tears Program – First Letter will be the letter “L”
  • Color Red

MATH:

  • Pre Test for Numeracy Development – Information on numeracy will be coming home along with homework.

Week of October 3, 2016

  •  PICTURE DAY is Tuesday October 11.  An envelope went home last week for you to fill out if you would like to purchase pictures.  Please send envelope back by picture day.
  • Since the weather is getting cooler we need to switch the students extra clothes that you sent in if they were summer clothes.  Please send in a shirt, pants, underwear and socks.  We will send the summer clothes home.
  • We need a few classroom items donated: paper/foam bowls for cereal, 3 or 5 oz plastic cups, gallon size bags and disinfecting wipes.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You!

The theme for the week is all about FALL.  The leaves changes colors, the squirrels gathering nuts, picking apples and pumpkins.

The story this week will be PETE THE CATS SCHOOL SHOES.

The Poem will be Way up high in the apple tree.  The poem came home on Friday.

Week of September 26, 2016

This week we will finish up with our assessments.  The children have been working very hard and I am very proud of them.

The theme this week is APPLES.

We are learning a new poem called WAY UP HIGH IN THE APPLE TREE.  Look for the poem in your child’s backpack.

We are also working on identifying the letters in our first name.

Today in your child’s backpack is the classroom schedule that will follow every day. If you have any questions please let me know.

WELCOME BACK FRIENDS!

WE HAD A GREAT FIRST WEEK BACK.  I JUST HOPE THE WEATHER GETS A LITTLE COOLER.  IT WAS A HOT FIRST WEEK BACK.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS BLOG THEN THAT’S GREAT!  I NEED TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU SO I KNOW YOU ARE RECEIVING MY BLOGS.  THIS YEAR I WILL COMMUNICATE BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL WITH THIS BLOG.  JUST SEND ME A SHORT MESSAGE BACK SAYING YOU RECEIVED THE BLOG.  I DON’T WANT ANYONE LEFT OUT.

I HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW PARAPROFESSIONAL WITH ME THIS SCHOOL YEAR.  HER NAME IS MS. LAURIE AND THE STUDENTS SEEM TO REALLY LIKE HER.  WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE MS. LAURIE WITH US.  

THIS THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH IS OPEN HOUSE FROM 6:00-7:30.  STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO BRING THEIR PARENTS TO SCHOOL TO SHOW THEM THEIR CLASSROOM AND MEET THE TEACHER.  I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE ON THE 15TH.  FAMILIES ARE WELCOME!

THE WEEK AHEAD

THIS PAST WEEK AND THE FOLLOWING 8 DAYS OF SCHOOL WE ARE REVIEWING AND HAVING FUN WITH SUMMER ACTIVITIES.  WE ARE TALKING ABOUT FISH AND THINGS THAT LIVE IN THE OCEAN.

IT HAS BEEN VERY HOT IN SCHOOL SO WE TRY TO STAY COOL.  PLEASE WATCH THE WEATHER FORECAST AND DRESS YOUR CHILD APPROPRIATELY.

THE LAST DAY FOR THE P.M. CLASS IS WEDNESDAY JUNE 15TH  AND THE LAST DAY FOR THE A.M. CLASS IS THURSDAY JUNE 16TH.
