Food Pantry Information
In addition to the food lunch pick-up within Dearborn Schools, there are two more food opportunities:
1. The Islamic Center of America is having a food drive this Saturday which is open to all families. Attached is the flyer.
Happy Last Day of School
I just want to Thank each and every parent for the support over the last three months. We have had our challenges but I truly believe the children have made some wonderful gains. They had some very caring parents who went above and beyond what they needed to do. Thank you for always being there when I called or texted! Have a wonderful summer and please stay in touch!

Simple Journal Ideas – I love this idea!
Journals can expose children to handling writing tools, opening books, moving from left to right and dictating. The children will love that these books are theirs. What can you do with the journal?
- Practice Drawing shapes and then the students can put stickers on the shapes
- Name recognition – Can make a pocket to keep a name card in it – The children can learn the letters in their name, how to spell their name, how to print their name and can even work on uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Draw pictures and write a little one or two sentence story about what is happening in the picture.
- Practice printing numbers. How high can to go?
- Draw objects and count them out by putting a number next to the object.

Monday Summer news and activity
End of year News!
- Last day of school is this Thursday June 11, 2020
- I will be contacting everyone this week to update transportation unless your son or daughter is moving to kindergarten and in that case I just drop transportation,
- Progress reports will be sent home by Thursday. I will email them to you just like last time.

Scissor skills with Junk Mail
Junk mail is a great and *free* way to work on those scissor skills!
Something we all get right? We walk out to the mailbox to get the mail only to find ads, mailers, application forms,… etc. Start up a junk mail stash because it makes a great everyday fine motor material!
Give your child a pair of scissors and have them practice their cutting skills!
Alternatively, if they aren’t at the cutting stage yet, it’s never to soon to build those finger, hand, wrist, arm muscles needed for writing– have them tear the paper up!
Cutting out toys, food, tools, coupons are also great vocabulary builders!
