Happy 1st day of Spring! Spring finally arrived and we are hoping for the weather to do the same.
Happening this week:
- Parent Teacher conferences are taking place on Wednesday 3/22 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Students will be completing a copy of their schedule and teachers’ names to help parents navigate around the building. There will be a 5 minute time limit to meet with each parent. I look forward to seeing you then.
- Every Wednesday is “Dress Up for Success” day, and every Friday is School Spirit day.
- Fundraiser for End of Year Activities will be held online starting on March 17, 2017 and end on Monday March 27, 2017. Items and information about this will ne on display in the office during conferences. The 6th grade link is: https://www.mythirtyone.com/1907985/shop/Party/EventDetail/9828580 or

In science this week students will review their data and findings they collected from their lab and class discussions last week to create “CER” chart to help them explain the phenomena:
- Energy cannot be created nor destroyed but converts/changes from one form to another.
In addition to mechanical energy, we will continue to discover how energy transfers from one form to another using and becoming familiar with the words: chemical energy, nuclear energy, thermal energy, sound energy, electrical energy (P.E/K.E), gravitational, mechanical energy, P.E, K.E, etc.
During lab time this week, students will investigate how to keep a model airplane in flight the longest time such as one/two minutes. Students will have the following supplies to investigate with: paperclips, paper and scissors.
Have a great week Vikings and always stay curious.
