NWEA testing  is complete and students worked real hard to meet their Winter Goal!  Congratulations to those who met their Winter 2019 goal or even beat their Fall 2018 Score in Science and other subjects.

 

Thursday February 14th is a HALF day for all Students.  Classes are dismissed at 11:05 a.m.

Mid-Winter Break :

  • Friday 2/15 and Monday February 18th, 2019.

In Science this week, students will:

  • complete  INPUT & OUTPUT Science stations to become familiar with the 3 different ways heat transfers
    • Conduction, Convection, Radiation
  • Complete a frayer model for the vocabulary Words: conduction, convection and  radiation.
  • design a lunchbox to prevent an ice cube from melting
  • explore different conductors and insulators 
  • discuss then write a letter with recommendations for building materials to minimize heat transfer in a lunchbox using evidence-based reasoning and justifying language.  

OUR guiding questions for this week are:

  • How can we get energy faster to the object?
  • How can we prevent energy from reaching the object?
