This week in science, students were given time to complete and submit their Summary Table from lesson 5 (6.1.5 Summary Table on Google Classroom). Students were assessed on content they learned about in lesson 5 as well. Both writing (Summary Table) and 6.1.5 Quiz are summative grades.

We started a new lesson (6.1.6) this week where students went on a journey with their 1 o’clock buddy as a water molecule. The journey was designed to answer the question:

” Where does the water in our community came from, and where would it go to next? “

Next week we will continue to…

  • Explore the journey of water around our community.
  • Create a storyboard revealing their water molecule journey around all 10 stations.
  • Start a summative writing assignment (C.E.R.E.R.C) explaining how and why water keeps changing from solid to liquid and to gas state.
  • Create a Present Day Lot Model showing their revisions from the original forest model.

Unit 1 Project will also be presented to students after they are assigned to their project groups.

Progress reports will be sent home the week of December 9, 2019 .
