Wow I cannot believe that we have completed 2 months of MIDDLE school! A lot has happened and I hope by now you are aware of how to obtain information to keep you up to date! The most important advice is to be responsible and KEEP your planner with you at ALL times. Make sure that you keep track of assignments and DUE dates as they are given. Also, I hope that you review your learning plan and goals once a week to stay on track and hold yourself accountable.

In SMITH news, I cannot be more proud of our lady viking volleyball team. Their hard work and dedication sure paid off this season!

W.E.B Leaders will be going on a field trip with the 6th grade students, their teachers and some parent chaperones to Blake’s Orchard this Tuesday. Please dress accordingly to weather conditions and bring a bagged lunch with you. We are looking forward to this wonderful event.

In Science News:

We completed our research and Gallery Walk for the 6 Body Systems assigned. Project along with the FlipGrid video is due this week.
We will begin the topic of Cell Theory this week and learn about the scientists responsible for this huge discovery. The scientists’ names are: Matthias Schleiden, Robert Hooke, Theodor Schwann and Rudolf Virchow.
Some of the vocabulary words related to our discussion this week are: cell, cork, living, animalcules, organisms, microscope, bacteria and homeostasis.
