Objective:  I can identify six elements found in an argumentative essay written by a professional writer.

Bell:  Answer 1-15 from “Guns and a Goose.” (see Dec 15 and 16)

Activities:

1.  Share Out:  Random answers for questions 2 and 8.

2.  Think Pair/Share:  Find these elements:  claim, anecdotal evidence(2), counterargument, facts(5), conclusion, and analogy.

3.  Teacher models how to find the claim:  Answer the question posed by the title of the essay.

4.  Share Out:  What is the author’s claim, anecdotal evidence, etc.?
