Objective:  I can paraphrase Brutus’s funeral speech for Caesar’s death on pages 870 and 871.

BW:  Match each footnote definition with it word on the T-Chart and write down the definition for it.  The footnotes can be found on pages 870-871.

Activities:

  1.  Promethean Board:  As a whole class, Stanzas #1 and #2 will be paraphrased as  a model for independent work.
  2. Think Pair/Share:  Students will paraphrase Stanza #3.
  3. Independent:  Student will complete paraphrasing Stanzas #4, #5, and #6 along with the commoners’ dialogue.
  4. HW: Complete paraphrasing the whole text for Brutus’ speech and the commoners’ dialogue.
