Dear Salina Families,
We are very excited to welcome you back for the 2020-21 school year!
I look forward to welcoming students into my virtual STEAM Enrichment classroom! As a graduate of Salina School, I am honored to have the opportunity to return as a teacher to the school I attended as a student! One question that many students ask about STEAM is “what does STEAM stand for?” The five components of STEAM are Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! We will learn about all of those topics in fun and engaging ways! The main topic that all of our lessons will focus on in STEAM is the ENGINEERING DESIGN PROCESS! You will also cover this topic in your Science classes as well!
While teachers will go more in depth with students next week about what to expect in each individual classroom, one important thing to know is that you will be required to attend LIVE online sessions every Monday-Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This is where attendance will be taken!
Remember that Salina staff members are always here for you and if you ever need someone to talk to about your feelings, you can talk to any of the adults at Salina. We are always here to help! If you would like to report a bullying situation anonymously, please go to the Salina Intermediate Blog and the form can be found on the sidebar (right hand side) under the picture of Salina Intermediate! Again, your Salina family is here to help!
I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know you! In the meantime, make sure you complete your “Week 1 Activities” (scavenger hunt, 6th grade orientation video, and ELA/Math summer learning)! Don’t forget to email your completed scavenger hunt to your 1st hour teacher! 🙂
Sincerely, Mrs. Saleh
