6/1-6/5 STEAM Lessons (Elementary & Middle School) – LAST ASSIGNMENT

**ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY!!!**

These are the last assignments for Marking Period 4.

ELEMENTARY LESSON:  Farewell STEAM Survey (Student Feedback to Guide Instruction)

Objective:  I can reflect on my time in STEAM class and elaborate on what my favorite activities and lessons were.

Instructions:

Fill out the “Farewell STEAM” survey and let me know what your favorite lessons were from this year!  There is also a “comment” section at the end of the survey, so you can add more feedback there as well. Your feedback is highly valued and appreciated! It will be used to help guide my instruction for future STEAM classes!

MIDDLE SCHOOL LESSON:  A Solution for Better Sleep:  STEM Reading & Quiz

Teacher Support:  Pre-recorded video lessons on Google Classroom for reading support and translation support (please access the video if you could benefit from listening to me read the passage, questions, and answer choices aloud; video also includes Arabic translation). Reminder: students may use Google Translate for language support.

Objective:  I can use context clues, interpret figurative language, draw inferences, recall supporting facts, identify the main idea, and analyze perspective as evident through responses to questions relevant to a STEM reading passage.

Instructions:

Click on the quiz link to read the reading passage and answer the five multiple choice questions that are relevant to the reading.  This week’s reading connection focuses on blue light, its connection to technology, and how it affects your sleep! Remember that a good reading strategy is to read all the questions first so that you know what information to look for while you’re reading!  You may only take the quiz once, so take your time and review your answers before submitting.
