*Assignments posted this week will cover a TWO week period because of the upcoming holiday break*–Eid Mubarak, everyone!!
*ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE BY: 5/29/20* (please plan accordingly)
5/18-5/29:
ELEMENTARY Lesson: Writing Instructional Manuals
Teacher Support: Pre-recorded videos of lesson instruction and reading support (read-aloud for quiz questions and answers). Additional videos on procedural writing will be posted on Google Classroom throughout these two weeks to help students become more familiar with “how-to”/procedural writing.
Objective: I can interpret images to help me identify proper steps to write in an instructional manual explaining how to assemble a spoon catapult.
Instructions:
In last week’s assignment, the objective was to focus on listing detailed steps and instructions for a process in sequential order and to understand the importance of being very detailed and not missing any steps. Your task for this week is to get some practice when it comes to one important thing that engineers are involved in: writing instructional manuals!
Please look at the image below and identify the CORRECTLY WRITTEN step that would go with each picture to explain to someone how to assemble a spoon catapult (the last picture shows you what the final result should look like).
Note: Pay VERY close attention to the pictures and ZOOM IN if you need to (there are important details you might miss). There are four pictures which means there will be four steps.
MIDDLE SCHOOL Lesson: EverFi: Endeavor (FINISH ALL REMAINING MODULES)
Teacher Support: Pre-Recorded video lesson on Google Classroom.
Objective: I can explore various STEM careers and identify how they target different interests, skills, and aptitudes.

Click on the “Endeavor” course and finish all remaining modules that you have not yet completed. The modules must be completed by FRIDAY, May 29, 2020. It should take you approximately an hour each week to go through the lessons and to complete the assessments. You do not need to do it all in one day. You need to earn at least a 70% on the assessment for each module in order for it to count. You may re-take the assessments as many times as you need to.
