Edited on March 30: Breakfast distribution is now Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to minimize exposure.
Dearborn Schools has announced that O.L. Smith will be added as a student meal distribution site starting on Monday, March 23.
Students, parents or a family representative can stop by any of meal locations from 10 a.m. to noon each week day to pick up meals. One bag will be handed out for each child under 18 in the home. The Dearborn School student does not need to attend school at that building. Students do not need to be present, and a designated person can pick up meals for all the children in the family.
The free grab-and-go meals include food for lunch and breakfast. Meals for Saturday and Sunday can be picked up on Friday.
Six other food sites opened on Tuesday, including Fordson, Edsel Ford and Dearborn high schools; McCollough-Unis; Salina Intermediate; and Woodworth Middle School.
Signage at each site will direct parents and students to where to enter the building. Food will be near entrances, usually near the kitchen, to minimize the amount of time community members spend in the facilities.
The grab-and-go meals will be served at least through April 3.

Hello everyone,
I hope you all are well as we find ourselves in this unique situation of deciding to shut down schools to ensure the health and safety of all students, parents, and staff. As with the district, we are going to be moving forward with our school year with an online learning platform. This means that students are going to need internet access in order to do much of our lessons. In order to receive updates on assignments you need to visit our Blog (https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/salame/) and Google Classroom. Emails will be sent out at least once a week. Please let us know if you have limited or no technology access at home by emailing us (salamea1@dearbornschools.org or greenbg@dearbornschools.org). We will work with you to make sure you are still getting the best education that we can provide.
Hopefully this sets up our next several weeks as we will update and communicate everything with you when it becomes available. We don’t want this to be a lost learning but a time experience learning in a different way. We are here for you and to support you, students and parents alike, in any way we can. Stay positive, healthy and keep working hard.
Sincerely,
Ms. Salame & Ms. Greenbaum
