Empty Bowls Dinner on November 19, 2018

Your are invited to a great event in happening in  Dearborn on November 19, 2018. I is the 27th year of the Empty Bowls event.  Miller students learned not only how to make a clay bowl, but learned the meaning of giving to others who are less fortunate.

Donations will support Gleaners Food Bank and Blessings in a Backpack, local charities that help feed the hungry. At this event, guests will enjoy looking at the amazing clay bowls made by Dearborn Public Schools students and pick one of their choice.

Students designed their Pinwheel after looking at two artworks by Vincent Van Gogh.

They designed the left and right triangles by choosing the colors and lines used by  the artist Vincent Van Gogh in his artwork “Starry Night”

Thank you to all parents who visited the art room during the open house last Thursday.  I was so happy to meet  so many parents of my new kindergartners as well as the parents of my former students. I am looking forward to teach your kids art and help them improve their artistic talents and skills.  I am always ready to answer any questions you may have. I welcome parents to come and visit the art room to learn about what the students are doing or even to help out whenver you have time to spare.  I will be communicating with you via my Art blog by posting pictures of what the students are learning and how they are creating their masterpieces.

Welcome Back Miller Mustangs

Welcome back for another great Art year at Miller Elementary!

This year, I am going to be the only art teacher for all Miller students. On Thursday,  I will be traveling to teach four classes at Maples Elementary School.

I have a student teacher, Kaylin Mahoney, who is going to stay with us for nine weeks. She is a student at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. This is her last semester.  She is a great addition to the Art room and the kids are now used to her friendly face and great attitude.

Make sure to contact me if you have any question. I am always eager to listen to you and find ways to help the students improve their artistic skills.
