Peace Celebration at Miller

Did you know that  September 21st was the International Day of Peace?

Students at Miller school started their 2013-2014 year by discussing different types of bullying and how to keep our school bully free.  Then, we moved to talking about Peace and how to keep Peace everywhere.

Students learned

-Different symbols of Peace

-September 21 is international Day of Peace

-Peace is a subject artists use all the time.

-How to draw Peace Symbols

 

 

 

Empty Bowls

The proceeds will go to benefit Gleaners Food Bank and Blessings in a Backpack.

They are using a leaf shape for their bowls.

The event will take place at Park Place Banquet Hall. The address is 23400 Park Street in Dearborn, MI. It is 2 blocks south of Michigan Avenue at Outer Drive.

Donations of a suggested $5 or more per person will be collected at the door. This will entitles each guest to soup, bread, coffee and a beautiful handmade bowl created by DPS students.

2012-2013 Overlapping Apples

The students drew and painted their overlapping apples after learning about the artist Paul Cezanne. They painted their pictures using the crayon resist technique.

The students learned about the different kinds of lines and patterns.  Then, they decorated their owls . Enjoy !
