Fourth and fifth graders enjoyed an introduction to the art of animation. Annette Frank, an artist and former art educator showed the students her collection of flip books. The students were amazed by looking at different ones. Then, she showed them how to make one book by using index cards and light box to create their own book.
At the end, students chose 24 index cards to draw the subject of their animation moving in slow motion by drawing it using the light box on the consecutive numbered pages.
Once the students finish drawing, tracing and coloring their pages, they will staple the flip book they created.
Thanks to Ms. Frank, the students now know how these flip books were created.
The students thanked Ms. Annette Frank for visiting and sharing with students her knowledge about this subject.
