Before applying colors to the bone dry clay bowls, fifth graders learned about the difference between glazing and painting with washable paint.
Then, they started to paint their clay bowls that we fired in the kiln.

. They used Fall colors to make the leaf shape looks realistic. Students had lots of fun discovering new colors when they blended all of the colors they used. They look like a real leaf that you see on trees at this time of the year.
At the end, students wrote about this experience in their journals.
