Parent Helpers

I am asking for volunteers in my classroom during math and literacy time.

Literacy volunteers should sign up to come in at 9:30-10:30 each day.

I will need math volunteers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:30-2:30 and Thursdays at 1:50-2:50.

If you’re interested, please email me.  You can let me know the time and date you would like to come in.

Volunteers may may not bring in children with them, and will be working with a small group doing reading or math games.

I will put together a calendar and post it on the blog.

Thank you, I look forward to working together.

Valentine’s Day Celebration and our 100th Day Party

We will be celebrating our 100th Day of school and our Valentine’s Party on Friday, February 13, 2015.  I have explained that the children can be creative with their 100 design.  If your child’s items are heavy you may need to use sturdier glue. (Items in the past have included but were not limited to: toothpicks, cotton balls, paper clips, stickers, cereal pieces, dots, pictures, etc.)  We will take all of the creations and create a 100 museum for all the children to take a tour through.  Please be sure that your child’s name is on the poster board so that it may be returned.  Please ask your child to count out the items by twos, fives, and tens, as well as ones.  Your child should be doing the creating, gluing and counting with your assistance ONLY if necessary.  This is a hands-on project for your child.  You may send them in on Thursday, February 12 or Friday, February 13.

We will also decorate mailboxes for Valentine’s please send in a shoe box on Monday, February 9, to decorate for the party on Friday.  We have 21 students 9 boys and 12 girls so please sign your name on the Valentine no need to address them, we will deliver the Valentine’s on Friday during the celebration.

This should be a fun day for the children.  They’ve been practicing counting to 100 so this will be a fun way to celebrate their efforts!  If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you for your support,
Ms. Rydlicki
