We brought our toys today to practice writing our opinion about them. We used examples from toysrus.com to guide us.

Dear families,
We are learning about facts and opinions in writing. Today we looked at online reviews of toys that showed the opinions of shoppers. Tomorrow your child should bring in a small toy that will fit in his or her backpack. The toy should NOT be a toy gun, knife, sword or any other weapon or dangerous toy. Your child will be writing a toy review of the toy that they brought in.

Math: We are taking our Math unit 1 test on Monday. The rest of the week we are learning about addition.

Reading: We are working on story elements such as characters, setting and retelling beginning middle and end of a story.

Writing: We are writing narratives with a beginning middle and end.

Social Studies: We are learning about how the past was different than the present.

Science: We are using our senses to learn about objects and the world.

Your child took a math test today. I will return the graded test by Wednesday.
