Why: Our Family Literacy Night is your opportunity to share the joy of reading at school with your children. We invite you to participate as a family unit, in several activities during the course of the evening.

What to expect: There will be a variety of activities you and your family can choose from. Join the staff for a super night of reading and writing activities!

-At all times children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sam’s Club will be here. Did you know you can use your Bridgecard at Sam’s Club to buy groceries? No other warehouse offers you this convenience. Come purchase your membership for $45 and get a $10 giftcard towards your first visit just for signing up!

Pizza and baked goods will be sold in the cafeteria at 5:15 pm. There is no Book Bingo in the cafeteria, however the Book Fair will be open for business.

زمن الاحتفال: الاثنين, 14 مارس-اذار من الساعة4 -5:30 مساء

الهدف من هذا الاحتفال: الاستمتاع بالقراءة مع اولادكم من خلال ليلة القراءة في اوكمن لذلك ندعو الجميع الى الحضور مع عائلاتهم للمشاركة في العديد من النشاطات.

Tomorrow we have a field trip. Only parents that have an up to date background check can go with us. No one is allowed to follow the bus by car because the Ford Rouge plant does not allow cars on property…only buses.

Please pack a healthy lunch for your child in a plastic or paper bag.

Wear an oakman shirt if you have one. Wear gym shoes, wear a small jacket with a hood in case it rains.

Please remind your child how important it is to follow rules on a field trip.

Math: page 69 in the workbook, and review the shapes in the shape book inside the math bag.

Our next parent meeting will be held this Friday, March 4th, 2016 at 8:55am in the cafeteria. We are inviting you to walk through Oakman School with us and discuss the upcoming M-Step

This meeting will begin with an introduction in the cafeteria by Mr. Awada describing the different instructional strategies used to teach students. You will then be led into the classrooms in groups to silently observe instruction at different grade levels. We will also go into common rooms shared by students such as the Computer Lab, Media Center and the Resource/Book Room. We will reconvene in the cafeteria to share your thoughts, take a survey and hear your feedback.

We hope to see you there!

يقام اجتماع الاهل والمدير في مدرسة اوكمن نهار الخميس الواقع في 4 اذار\مارس 2016 الساعة 8:55 دقيقة صباحاً في قاعة الطعام.

يتخلل الاجتماع عرض مختصر من قبل مدير المدرسة، السيد عواضة، للسبل المتبعة في مدرستنا وكيفية تعليم الطلاب ومناقشة امتحان M-Step. بالاضافة الى زيارة عدد من المعلمين لنرى عن كثب ماذا يجري في صفوف اولادنا.كما سنقوم بزيارة غرفة الحاسوب/الكمبيوتر ومكتبة المدرسة واخيراً سوف نعود الى قاعة الطعام لتبادل الافكار ولسماع ارائكم وملاحظاتكم.

نشكركم سلفاً ونأمل حضوركم هذا الاجتماع الهام.

الرجاء عدم إحضار عربات الاطفال الى الفصول الدراسية.
