Today in class we worked on chapter 7, section 3.  We discussed about how geography can affect where people settle, like the ancient Egyptians.

Today in class I passed back their chapter 6 assessments.

I also passed out their Unit 1 study guide.  The study guide shows everything the student needs to study for the unit test which is on WEDNESDAY next week!

Today students turned in their Code of Hammurabi Projects.  Anyone who didn’t turn it in today will get 5 points off.  Friday is the last day to turn it in.

Tomorrow the illustrated dictionary is due for the 4 key terms on p. 74, and the 4 key terms in chapter 8.  The students need to do their dictionaries on a separate sheet of loose leaf paper.

Today in class we corrected the chapter 6 assessment.

Also I mentioned to students that they will have a UNIT TEST next week WEDNESDAY!!
The unit test will consist of chapters 1, 3-6 from the textbook.
I will give students a study guide on what they need to know for the test.  But what they need to study are their previous assessments that we have taken from chapters 1, 3-6.  I will take questions from those tests, word for word, and put them on the unit test.
So students need to study the multiple choice on their old tests we have taken.  That will also be partly their “study guide.”

I also checked bellwork and their chapter 6 reading notes.

Vocabulary students need to do in their notes:
p. 74:  the 4 key terms on that page (Nile River, Egypt, Kush, and Mediterranean Sea)
Chapter 8:  all terms, blue and bolded

The students then need to begin their illustrated dictionary.  They must do this on a loose leaf sheet of paper, and include the 4 key terms on page 75 and the 4 key terms in chapter 8.  That will be due on Thursday.
