Today students created a poster about a battle from the Persian Wars. If a student was absent today, I will tell them on Monday what they will have to do to make it up.
Homework was due today to write a paragraph about a battle. Here is the information:

Yesterday a sub was in class and students watched a video on the Battle of Thermopylae. Any students absent from class should watch this video. Also, any students who did watch it in class, I strongly urge them to finish the entire video.

Today we continued chapter 28 on the Persian wars, and began the Battle of Marathon. Students performed a “Greek Play” about the battle in class today.

Extra credit won’t be due until Friday because we have M-STEP the next 3 days. Students need to read and complete notes for chapter 27 (don’t need to do preview and processing).

Today we started chapter 28: Fighting the Persian Wars.
We did the preview in the reading notes and also started section 2:

For extra credit, students can read and complete the reading notes for chapter 27 about the city-states of Athens and Sparta. This is due on Tuesday. They DO NOT need to do the preview or processing on the notes:

Today in class we reviewed for the chapter 26 assessment. ASSESSMENT WILL BE ON THURSDAY!!

The study guide is very small because we have been making the tests too easy for the students, and the other teachers and I will make our study guides with questions that we haven’t really covered in class. All other questions have been discussed in class.
Another portion of the test is the map of Greece. Here is the map incase they lost it (1st page!!)
Reading notes for chapter 26 will be checked on Thursday. Make sure they have them completed
1st hour tomorrow, bring a book to read and a No. 2 pencil.
