Unfortunately we were not able to do the role plays today, but we will for sure do them on Monday. Too many groups were just not ready to perform today.
Have a great weekend!
Today and yesterday, students have been preparing role plays about different social classes in ancient Egypt. For their role plays they are to bring in props and costumes to make it look and seem more realistic.
We will start performing our skits tomorrow. This will be their summative grade for chapter 9.
Here are the chapter 9 reading notes:
Here are the directions for the play (make sure you see which one is yours):
Thank you
Can’t believe it’s already 2016!!
Hope everyone had a great break.
Today in class we continued with chapter 9: Daily Life in Ancient Egypt. We re-read section 2 and completed the notes for it (whatever they don’t finish, they are responsible for finishing on their own when I check reading notes).
Then I assigned each group a section from chapter 9, giving them a certain social class from ancient Egypt, e.g. Government Officials, Priests, Scribes, Artisans, or Peasants. Students had to read their section and complete the notes for that section
As a summative grade for this chapter, students will be doing a role play, acting out a “scene” from the daily life of the different social classes. Tomorrow I will give them more information about what they should do for their plays.
Students are advised to bring in props and costumes to make the setting more realistic.
