Processing homework is due tomorrow!

Students need to create a museum exhibit that show 3 artifacts of the Shang dynasty that relate to a characteristic of civilization (government, writing, religion, etc…).  They can find the processing at the end of the reading notes.  Here is an example from last year:

Today in class students finished up the activity of examining Shang Dynasty artifacts and discovering what the Shang people believed in over 3,000 years ago.

CHAPTER 20 ASSESSMENT IS ON WEDNESDAY!

PROCESSING
The processing at the end of the reading notes is due on Tuesday.  Students need to make a museum exhibit showcasing 3 artifacts from the Shang dynasty that relate to a characteristic of civilization (government, art, technology, etc…).  It needs to be colored and on a normal size sheet of paper.  Here is an example from last year:

Hope everyone had a good (even though short) break.

Today I introduced the assignment they will be working on for the next couple days.  They will act as ‘archaeologists’ and ‘excavate artifacts’ that relate with the Shang dynasty of ancient China.  Any absent students will work with their partner tomorrow to be caught up to speed.

Make sure any students who haven’t turned in their religion notes, map of China, or chapter 20 illustrated dictionary do so please!

Any absent students who didn’t take the test or show me their religion notes need to make sure to remind me when they return to show me their notes and take their test.

Today we began chapter 20: the Shang Dynasty.

I handed out the reading notes for chapter 20, but it is NOT homework.  We only worked on the preview.

Today students also had to turn in their map of China.  This was given yesterday in class.  Any absent students need to complete this, using the maps and passage from the textbook on p.198-199.

Yesterday we corrected the multiple choice section of the religions test, I still need to check the writing portion.
Yesterday we also began our unit on ancient China.  We watched a video, discussed what students already knew, and I showed some pictures of my travels in China for an introduction.

Today the chapter 20 illustrated dictionary was due (blue words only).  Any students who didn’t do it can still turn it in tomorrow.  They can print this off, or do it on loose leaf paper:

Today we worked on the map of China on page 198.  Any absent students will need to pick up a map in class and complete it.  Also, I check their religions notes.  Any absent students will need to remind me to check them when they return.

Today we prepared for the religions test on Monday.  Students need to study their notes that we have worked on in class, along with other vocabulary terms that were given in the study guide.  They MAY NOT use their notes on the test.

Yesterday and today we discussed Christianity.  Students took notes from the powerpoint.

Today we began on our last religion, Islam.  We will continue Islam tomorrow.
