Today and yesterday in class, students got into groups of their choosing to work and complete the notes on chapter 35.  There are 8 sections total that they need to have completed.  For sections 4-10, students needed to have created Venn diagrams on a loose leaf sheet of paper, just like the one from section 3 that I gave them.  Here are the reading notes:

Tomorrow they will continue these sections and at then end of class they will receive the study guide.  Thursday we will review, and NEXT MONDAY IS THE TEST!  That will be our last summative grade for the year.

Yesterday I checked students chapter 34 reading notes.  They needed to have them complete, along with the map colored of the 4 periods of expansion.

Today the chapter 35 illustrated dictionary was due.  They needed to have done the blue terms and only define the black.

Today students started on their assignment for chapter 34, they will create a powerpoint using google slides and present information to the class.  They will have tomorrow to work on it and I plan on having them present on Tuesday.

Yesterday and today we began chapter 34:  From Republic to Empire.  This chapter basically discusses how Rome went from a small Republic to a massive empire.

Students have been broken up into groups and have been assigned a section from the chapter.  They will work in their groups to create a presentation using google slides to the class.  They will work on their presentations in class over the next couple days.  When they present, other students will be taking notes on remaining sections.

Students so far need to have section 2 completed in their notes, as well as their section they were assigned.  Here are the reading notes for chapter 34:

Today students took their chapter 31 assessment.  I checked their reading notes along with it as well.

We are now done with ancient Greece, and will be moving on to ancient Rome.  The next chapter we are going to do is 34:  From Republic to Empire.  Students need to work on the illustrated dictionary for chapter 34, BLUE terms ONLY.

The last few days we have been working on Chapter 31:  The Legacy of Ancient Greece in class.  Students have been working with a partner to read and write about contributions that the Greeks have given us in modern society in fields such as Astronomy, Government, Medicine, etc…
