Today students had time to work on the comic book cover projects.  This is a summative grade and is DUE TOMORROW!  It needs to be fully colored, have all the information from the rubric on there, and rubric is stapled to the back.  Loss of points if no rubric.

I have also handed out their summative assignment for this chapter.  They will create a Hominid Comic Book cover page.  They will choose their favorite hominid group and create a comic book looking cover page (like Superman, Batman, Flash, etc…) including all of their capabilities of that hominid.  We will work on this in class on Monday, and it will be due on Tuesday.  Here is the rubric for the assignment

Today we worked on sections 5-6 in chapter 2 on the hominid groups Homo sapiens neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens sapiens.

We completed section 5 notes on the Neanderthal man, but not section 6.  We will complete section 6 notes tomorrow in class…it is NOT homework!

Yesterday I was absent so the students worked on an assignment with the substitute.

Today in class students turned in their extra credit.  If students didn’t turn it in today, they have a couple more days to get it turned in (less points if late).

Today students also received back their chapter 1 tests.  They need to double check everything was added up correctly and that the grade they received is the same grade in student connect.
They also got back their chapter 2 illustrated dictionaries.

Today we continued with chapter 2:  Early Hominids.  We learned about 2 hominid groups; Australopithecus Afarensis, and Homo Habilis.  We read sections 2-3 in chapter 2 and started on the reading notes.  Here are the reading notes for chapter 2:
