Have a good weekend!
Well, we are already a few days into the new school year! It’s crazy how fast that summer went.
This blog will be used for posting assignments, updating what we did in class that day, and any upcoming assignments or tests in my class.
We have just been going over class rules and procedures over the last couple days (along with some other activities). I have handed out my syllabus and that must be signed for points! The syllabus is DUE MONDAY!
Today I also handed out a parent letter. This is just for the parents/guardians to read, I don’t need it signed or returned.
On this attachment you will find BOTH the syllabus and parent letter.
I hope everyone has a GREAT school year and I look forward to working with parents and students to make this year successful!
Thank you
Mr. Piche
Can’t believe the year is already over.
Thanks to all parents and students for a great year!
Today in class students had 20 minutes to try and finish up their reading notes. Any notes they didn’t finish they will have to finish on their own by Friday. Here are all the reading notes:

LAST DAY OF MAY!!
Today in class we finished up chapter 34 on Rome: Republic to Empire. We finished up the reading notes, read the chapter summary, did the essential question, watched a short video and then we did an open book, open note quiz. This quiz was due at the end of the hour. I cannot post it on the blog so students must pick it up from me in class if they were absent.
Also, I checked their reading notes for chapter 34:
Our next chapter is 35: Daily Life in the Roman Empire. Students are to complete the illustrated dictionary for this by Friday. Here is the dictionary:

My apologies for not posting here in quite some time.
In recent days, we have been working on ancient Rome and chapter 34: From Republic to Empire. This chapter discusses how Rome went from a small republic in central Italy to a massive huge Empire spanning across the Mediterranean world.
Students have been working in groups to create google slide presentations on their period of Roman expansion. Today is the last day to present the slides.
Tomorrow I will check their chapter 34 reading notes, they will get a chance to complete them in class today:

Today in class we started our unit on ancient Rome. Students read pg. 337 and completed a map of the Roman Empire. This was due at the end of class.
