Today in class we are working on the Chapter 5 assessment. This is a summative grade worth 10 points…so it MUST be completed.
Please look at the LAST page in the reading notes under “Processing.” That explains the assignment:
Basically students will use magazines to find modern artifacts that show evidence of each characteristic of civilization (technology, religion, government, etc…). They will choose 1 picture for each characteristic, then they will write a sentence explaining their reasoning. Here is the sentence stem:
(Name of artifact) relates to this characteristic of civilization because…
For example (if a student has a picture of drums for The Arts): The drums relate to this characteristic of civilization because they are being used to bring joy to others and to entertain them with beautiful music.
This is DUE tomorrow!
Reading notes were checked today! Any absent students need to get them checked. ALso they turned in their open-book, take-home quiz.
Tomorrow we will finish up chapter 5 and I will explain the extra credit option more in detail.
