Break Time-Waiting Rooms

During break times students will be put in a Zoom Waiting Room. They are not kicked out of the Zoom meeting but they are just put in a “Waiting Room”/paused until it is time to come back to the Zoom Meeting/Class. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING! It’s like before we begin school as we have been doing the past two mornings. They will wait until I accept them into class. Please remember this is a break, they should get drinks and snack, use the restroom if needed, and stretch or move around.

If your child ever gets kicked out of Zoom due to internet issues please have them click back into the meeting and I will rejoin them. I hope this helps. Take care!

Stellaluna Video-Be Proactive

Here is the video of Stellaluna that we watched together as a class today. I am providing this video just in case your child was unable to watch the whole video or if they would like to see it again. Enjoy!

Homework-Leader in Me For Wednesday, September 2nd

Today’s homework for Leader in Me will need to be completed in your child’s “Discovering the Leader in Me” Leadership Guide. Please go to pages 22-23. Please review page 22 and talk about the “Circle of Control” with your child. In class, they worked on a “My Circle of Control” chart with me. They can share this with you at this time too! Next, students were asked to complete page 23. This is their homework. All they need to do is write about something they think is in their own circle of control and how they control it. For example, keeping my desk neat is in my circle of control. I do this by organizing it everyday once I am done with my work. I hope this helps. We will be sharing these tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what students wrote. Thanks!

Zoom and Homework for Tomorrow

The students did a great job on Zoom today! Please remind them to stay on mute until I call on them. We took breaks, watched a video, worked on Zoom expectations, and completed a few pages out of the Leader in Me book (pags. 4-5)

For homework please have your child write their Zoom Norms and Expectations ideas on the bottom of the Zoom Norms and Expectations Sheet. Students used this sheet today at our Zoom meeting (2nd Grade Leader in Me Material packet in red folder). Students need to add 2 expectations/rules other than the ones already provided in the squares on the sheet.  Students do not have to do more than 2 but if they would like to do so they can. We will be sharing these at our Zoom tomorrow.  There is no need to turn in anything to me today. I can’t wait to hear all of their ideas!  We will be using students’ ideas to complete a Zoom Norms and Expectations Sheet/Class Anchor chart (Zoom rules).

Have a great day!–

Zoom Meeting-Student Login Help If Needed

Parents, if your child is having difficulty getting into the zoom meeting on their Chromebook they need to go to their student email.  They can do this by first logging into their computer.  Then they need to be on the district website under STUDENT PORTAL.  Once they are there look for the heading Student Tools and Links.Once on there they need to click on the first bullet called Student District Email/Google Login. They should be able to go right into their email since they are logged in. If they are still not able to get in the Zoom meeting this way or through your own email please contact me.  Thanks for your help and patience.  We’re in this together.
