We Are Back in Class

Technical difficulties! We’re BACK! Please make sure you come back to class this afternoon.

Technology (Media) Special Class Info and Zoom Meeting Info

Hello parents! Today your child will go to their Technology Special Class after lunch.  Just like I put on our Weekly Lesson Plan for you on our Blog.  Please make sure they click the recorded lesson NOT THE ZOOM.   They will also be going back to the same Course in Schoology at 2:00pm today for a live Zoom Meeting with Mrs. Ackerman.  That’s when you need to click the zoom link in the Technology Course.  I went over this with your child, but just wanted to give you a heads up too!  Take care and thanks for all you are doing to help.

Math Module 1 Lesson 3 Homework

Today your child will have math homework for Module 1 Lesson 3. You will find their homework in their Math ¨Succeed¨ book (not their Learn or Practice books).

They are only expected to do the homework problems for Module 1 Lesson 3. Please have your child complete problem 1 a, b, c, and d and problem 2 a, b, c, and d. It is asked that they show decomposing and math pictures to solve the problems in number 2. Students worked on this in class and should be able to show you their classwork, in their LEARN book, if needed. Problem 3 is EXTRA CREDIT. It is a choice.

Please also read the Homework Helper letter for parents as guidance. I have also provided a video for parents so that they are able to help navigate their child through their homework on Schoology. You will also find a video for today’s lesson that will explain DECOMPOSING NUMBERS, AND EASY TENS AND ONES PICTURES. Please go to courses and click the math folder and click Module 1 Lesson 3.

Thanks so much and have a good night!

Math Module 1 Lesson 2 Homework and Social Studies Homework (9-9-20)

Today your child will have math homework for Module 1 Lesson 2. You will find their homework in their Math ¨Succeed¨ book (not their Learn or Practice books). They are to only do the lesson for Module 1 Lesson 2. Please read the Homework Helper letter for parents as guidance. I have also provided a video for parents so that they are able to help navigate their child through their homework on Schoology. Please go to courses and click the math folder and click Module 1 Lesson 2.

For Social Studies, please have your child add one more item to Places in Our Community Chart. We began this today. Please only write one more item for each column not more. It needs to be a place in Dearborn where we get our food, clothing, and shelter. For example, they can not put 12 Oaks since that is in the Novi Community. We will share and discuss this tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Thanks so much!

Math Homework and Video Module 1 Lesson 1

Today your child will have math homework for Module 1 Lesson 1. You will find their homework in their Math ¨Succeed¨ book (not their Learn or Practice books). I have also provided a video for parents so that they are able to help navigate their child through their homework on Schoology. Please go to courses and click the math folder. Thanks so much!

Friendly Reminder

Good evening!  Just a friendly reminder to sign up your child into Schoology for tomorrow.  As we stated on an email on Thursday.  You will find the directions on how to do it on that email. It is important since our Zoom link is now on Schoology, and also because special area courses (Art, Music, PE, and Technology) begin tomorrow at 12:25.  Those courses are in Schoology for your child to click on.  We have ART!!!

HOW TO ACCESS ZOOM THROUGH SCHOOLOGY

Parents, students can now access their Schoology account.  As of now parents will not be able to login in as a parent until further notice.  So you can access site under your student. They can get to their Schoology account on the Dearborn Public Schools Website.

Here are the steps to get to your child’s account…

  1. They can do this by first logging into their computer with their student ID@dearbornschools.org, and their password (birthdate for example: 06232020)
  2. Then they will need to go to the district website.
  3. They need to click on STUDENT PORTAL
  4. Once they are there look for the heading Schoology (on left side)and then click on the S or the word Schoology
  5. Once in Schoology Click on the word COURSES (on the green strip)
  6. Next, click the first box in the upper left corner called 2nd Grade (PerAM_PM-YB-Sec210). Once you’re in you will see the Zoom Meeting and Courses (math, science, social studies, etc…)
  7. Special Area Classes will be found toward the bottom of the page as you scroll down.  This is how your child will get into special area Zoom Meetings, videos, and classwork.
  8. Please contact me if you have any difficulties.  We’re in this together.

Since we are transitioning to the Schoology platform we would like for your child to try and attempt entering Tuesday’s Zoom meeting through Schoology.  As we continue to learn we will update you.  Thanks and take care!

PTA NEWS- 2020 Virtual Election

PTA 2020 Virtual ElectionHello Parents!!! With the abrupt ending to last year’s school year, we were not able to hold a traditional election. Here’s how it’s going to work… 1.       Email nominees to LindberghPTADearborn@gmail.coma.       You can nominate anyone, including yourself.b.      Nominees will be accepted from September 7th until September 21st.2.       Any person who is nominated will be notified on September 21st of their nomination.3.       A document will be blasted out via email, and uploaded to Facebook on September 29th.a.       This will have the list of nominees for each open position.b.      This document will be available for 24 hours only.c.       Once voting has closed and been tallied, Election results will be shared.4.       Training and a transitional period will be available for those elected.5.       If positions are not filled or receive ZERO nominees, they will still be vacated by the current board member and remain OPEN.6.       We will be voting on 3 Positions: President, Father VP, and Secretary. See below for a quick description.a.       President – Holds monthly meetings, schedules PTA Event Calendar, assist event chairs in promotion and running of events, work closely with staff of needs of the school.b.      Father VP – Be a positive male role model for our school, attend monthly meetings, manage specials teacher wishlists, organize annual end of the year Fun Fair.c.       Secretary – attend monthly meetings, take notes/meeting minutes, manage social media accounts and PTA publications. Keep an eye open for the election details and updates via EMAIL, BLOG POST, and FACEBOOK POST (Lindbergh PTA Dearborn)!!!ReplyReply allForward
