This week, we’ll be working on our body systems unit to investigate how cells work together to create organs and more complex body systems, we’ll explore how body systems influence one another, and we’ll learn about how the human body functions. We’ll have a quiz on the human body & body systems on Friday, March 22nd. Students should be reviewing their science glossary terms, class notes, and recent homework assignments to prepare for the quiz.
Homework –
3/20 – Complete your Human Body Model Project flip labels. The Human Body Model Project is due at the end of class tomorrow (Thursday, March 21st).
3/21 – Study for the Human Body Quiz tomorrow (Friday, March 22nd).

We will also have a quiz on cells, cell parts, and cell functions on Friday, March 1st – students can prepare for the quiz by studying their science glossary terms, looking over their class notes, and reviewing their recent assignments.

2/27 – Complete your Cells & The Real World poster – Presentations are tomorrow in class!

This week, the 7th grade students will be putting their 2-D and 3-D modeling skills to the test by working on their Lego Dissection project.  Students will gain practice with isometric and multi-view sketching, they will begin organizing and categorizing data, and they will test out their DIY instruction manuals with other teams. By the end of the week, students will create and present a Lego Dissection PowerPoint to the class, to discuss what they have learned through the process of creating a technical design manual.
Homework –
2/27 – Finish your Lego Dissection Presentation PowerPoint & upload it to Google Classroom tonight – Presentations will take place in class tomorrow!
2/28 – Make sure that your Lego Dissection Project PowerPoint has been uploaded to Google Classroom!

The 8th grade students will continue to gather ideas for the 8th grade Design Fair, which will take place in May 2019. During this time, students will explore topics, conduct research, and identify a real-world problem that will kick off their own Engineering Design Process. We will be working on prototype drawing this week to prepare for the Engineering Design Fair. We will have rolling drawing checks throughout the week, with a final Engineering Notebook check on Friday, March 1st during class.
Homework –
2/27 – Work on your Prototype Drawing Worksheets – All Prototype sketches & worksheets are due by Friday, March 1st!
