6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between unicellular and multicellular organisms. We’ll be learning that cells are the building block of life and that all living things are comprised of one or more cells. Throughout this unit, we’ll also be examining the relationship between biotic and abiotic components and we’ll be learning about the difference between viruses, parasites, bacteria, and healthy cells. We’ll also be examining the parts of cells, functions of cells,the characteristics of living things, and we’ll be learning about the structure and function of body systems.

7th Grade ELA –
This week, we’ll be working on a poetry & figurative language unit. During this unit, students will examine different types of poems, such as sonnets, haikus, acrostic poems, limericks, and free verse poems, to learn about concepts such as mood, tone, hyperbole, irony, metaphors, and allegory. Students should also continue working on Book Project 2, which will be due on Thursday, January 23rd. All of the Book Project 2 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.

8th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be exploring and examining how graphic designers use mathematics, graphic design skills, and computer-aided design techniques to create geometric designs, artistic patterns, and architectural structures. Students will be using their skills to convert 2-D and 3-D images to designs using web-based software programs.
