6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between unicellular and multicellular organisms. We’ll be learning that cells are the building block of life and that all living things are comprised of one or more cells. Throughout this unit, we’ll also be examining the relationship between biotic and abiotic components and we’ll be learning about the difference between viruses, parasites, bacteria, and healthy cells.
Homework –
12/11/19 – Complete your cell vocabulary quadrants – These are due (and must be submitted to Google Classroom) by the end of class tomorrow (Thursday)!

7th Grade ELA –
This week, we’ll be working on our argumentative & persuasive literature unit. Students will read, write, and evaluate different forms of argumentative and persuasive texts, including non-fiction literature, news articles, informational texts, debates, and transcripts. During this unit, students will also write arguments and counter-arguments that involve citing claims, evidence, and reasoning. Over the course of the next week, students will begin writing and revising their final argumentative essay – this will be a full 5-paragraph essay. Students should also begin working on Book Project 2 will be due on Thursday, January 23rd. All of the Book Project 2 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.
Homework –
12/11/19 – Work on your Water Crisis & Technology C-E-R. The rough draft should be completed today, the final draft (typed in Google Classroom) is due at the end of class tomorrow (Thursday).

8th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be exploring and examining how graphic designers use mathematics, graphic design skills, and computer-aided design techniques to create geometric designs, artistic patterns, and architectural structures.
Homework –
12/11/19 – Compete the final draft of your Tessellation Project (Part 1) – the hand-drawn version. This is due at the end of class tomorrow (Thursday). Late projects will not be accepted for credit!
