6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between the Earth, water, weather, and climate. Students will conduct a series of activities and projects to explore how weather forms and how meteorologists predict weather patterns. Students should also begin studying their weather & climate vocabulary and look over their class notes, handouts, and activities – we’ll have a Weather & Climate Quiz on Tuesday, November 26th!
Homework –
11/20/19 – Bring in a 20 oz. water bottle/pop bottle with a cap to class on Thursday!
11/21/19 – Complete your Cloud in a Bottle Lab Report!
11/22/19 – Study your Weather & Climate vocab, class notes, handouts, & activities – We’ll have a Weather & Climate Quiz on Tuesday, Nov. 26th!
7th Grade ELA –
This week, we’ll be working on our argumentative & persuasive literature unit. Students will read, write, and evaluate different forms of argumentative and persuasive texts, including non-fiction literature, news articles, informational texts, debates, and transcripts. During this unit, students will also write arguments and counter-arguments that involve citing claims, evidence, and reasoning. Over the course of the next two weeks, students will begin writing and revising their final argumentative essay – this will be a full 5-paragraph essay. For future planning, Book Project #2 will kick off next week – all of the instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric will be available in Google Classroom. Book Project 2 will be due on Thursday, January 23rd!

11/20/19 – Complete the final draft of your argumentative essay introduction paragraph & submit your intro paragraph to Google Classroom – Due Thursday!
11/21/19 – Work on your argumentative essay body paragraphs 1 & 2!
11/22/19 – Finish your argumentative essay body paragraphs 1 & 2 – We’ll have a writer’s workshop in class on Monday to edit and revise our work!
8th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be exploring and developing our computational thinking, design, programming, and web development skills, to solve academic puzzles and real-world problems. This week, we’ll also explore web-based presentation software and create our own presentations. Prezi Me Projects will be due on Friday, November 22nd at the end of class! Presentations will take place during class on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. NO LATE PROJECTS WILL WILL BE ACCEPTED DUE TO THE UPCOMING HOLIDAY BREAK!
