6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be working on our genetics & heredity unit to learn more about DNA, alleles, and how traits are passed on from one generation to the next. We’ll be exploring how Punnett Squares predict traits and we’ll discuss the differences between dominant and recessive alleles.
Homework –
4/10 – Complete the DNA Testing – Talking to the Text Activity
4/11 – Finish the Gregor Mendel Social Media Worksheet
4/12 – Work on your Science Fair project at home – gather materials, conduct your experiment, take photos & collect data. The Science Fair will take place on Monday, May 13th.


STEM Apps – 
This week, the STEM students will be completing a STEM-related career exploration to investigate future career path options. We will be researching career fields and academic requirements and we’ll be using educational computer presentation software to create a virtual tour of a chosen career field. Students will be presenting their virtual tours in class on Friday, April 12th.
Homework –
4/10 – Continue working on your STEM Career Virtual Tour Step 5 (Part C). The final draft of your virtual tour presentation (PowerPoint) is due on Friday, April 12th when we present in class. Please upload your work to Google Classroom by class time on Friday (4/12)!
4/11 – Continue working on your STEM Career Virtual Tour Step 5 (Part D). Complete your virtual tour and add any finishing touches. The final draft of your virtual tour presentation (PowerPoint) is due tomorrow – Friday, April 12th, when we present in class. Please upload your work to Google Classroom by class time on Friday (4/12)!
4/12 – Work on your Design Fair project at home – gather materials, create your prototype or model, test your prototype/model, take photos & collect data.  The Design Fair will take place on Monday, May 13th.
