6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be wrapping up our heat, temperature, and thermal energy unit. We’ll continue to explore the topic of thermal energy in discussions, activities, and experiments over the course of the week, and then move into a short unit focusing on kinetic and potential energy. On Thursday, November 15th, students will take a quiz to assess their knowledge of thermal energy, heat transfer, kinetic energy, and potential energy. In terms of quiz prep, students should be familiar with our science glossary (vocab) terms, class notes, recent assignments and experiments.
Homework –
11/12 – Study for the types of energy quiz on Thursday! (Review notes, science glossary terms, homework, and experiments).
11/13 – Complete the What is Energy Worksheet #1-14 & study for the types of energy quiz on Thursday! (Review notes, science glossary terms, homework, and experiments).

STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be continuing our Modeling & Design unit, where students will be challenged to use drafting, architectural, and design skills to transform images from two-dimensional sketches to three-dimensional models. This week, we’ll be focusing on drafting and finalizing multi-view images to learn more about perspective and the world of engineering and drafting.
Homework –
11/12 – Work on your multi-view sketches – we’ll have a sketchbook check on Thursday in class!
11/13 – Keep working on your multi-view sketches – we’ll have a sketchbook check on Thursday in class!
