Science Fair, Design Fair & Book Project Update – March 31, 2020

PROJECT UPDATE FOR:
6TH GRADE – SCIENCE FAIR
7TH GRADE – ELA BOOK PROJECT 3
8TH GRADE – DESIGN FAIR

KEEP ALL OF YOUR PROJECT MATERIALS – DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!

KEEP WORKING ON YOUR PROJECT!!

There’s a very good chance that **IF** school closures extend past Spring Break, the Dearborn Public School district will eventually ask teachers to start giving formative and summative grades on digital work, like we’re seeing in other states across the U.S. I do not have any additional information regarding this at this time, but I want you to know that this is a possibility, so that you do not throw project materials away or have to re-do any work.

If we are physically back in school on April 13th, following Spring Break:
6th Graders – We’ll have more formative and summative Science Fair check-ins leading up to the fair on May 4th, as planned. Plan to have a Science Fair update to share for a grade after we return from Spring Break.

7th Graders – If we are physically back in school after Spring Break, you’ll turn in your Book Project 3 for a grade on April 16th, as planned.

8th Graders – We’ll have more formative and summative Design Fair check-ins leading up to the fair on May 4th, as planned. Plan to have a Design Fair update to share for a grade after we return from Spring Break.

If we ARE NOT physically back in school on April 13th due to extended school closures, I will send out more info about project updates & deadlines after we return from Spring Break.

ALTHOUGH THIS COULD CHANGE, AS OF RIGHT NOW:
THE ELA BOOK PROJECT 3 IS STILL DUE ON APRIL 16TH!
THE SCIENCE FAIR IS STILL TAKING PLACE ON MAY 4TH!
THE DESIGN FAIR IS STILL TAKING PLACE ON MAY 4TH!

In the meantime, I don’t have any more info regarding this, but stay tuned. I’ll be sure to keep you updated as I receive more details from our Superintendent and our school administrators.

Thank you for working so hard to complete your digital assignments on time and for being so supportive during such an unpredictable, unprecedented situation. I really miss seeing all of you in school – I hope you’re safe, sound, and doing well!
