6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be focusing our efforts on preparing for the Science Fair, which will take place on May 4th, 2020. During this time, students will study the scientific method, examine the parts of a science fair display board, discuss lab reports, practice data organization and graphing, and gather research. All science fair instructions, details, deadlines, and rubrics are available in Google Classroom.

7th Grade ELA –
This week, we’ll be discussing, analyzing, and writing thesis statements. We’ll be comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences between thesis statements and topic sentences, and we’ll discuss the reasons why thesis statements need a clear claim, evidence, and reasoning. Students should also continue working on Book Project 3, which will be due on Thursday, April 16th. All of the Book Project 3 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.
Homework –
2/10/20 – Complete IXL ELA 7.K 1 – Identify thesis statements. Students must earn at least a 95% on this IXL to receive full credit.
2/11/20 – Finish the Common Writing Errors: Write your own thesis statements worksheet.

8th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, the 8th grade students will begin brainstorming and gathering ideas for the Engineering Design Fair, which will take place on May 4th, 2020. During this time, students will explore topics, conduct research, and identify a real-world problem that will kick off their own Engineering Design Process. All engineering design fair instructions, details, deadlines, and rubrics are available in Google Classroom.
