Wednesday, December 4th!

6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be studying, analyzing, and investigating the connections between the Earth, water, weather, and climate. Students will conduct a series of activities and projects to explore how weather forms and how meteorologists predict weather patterns. Students will also be working on a week-long project that involves several elements of weather forecasting.
Weather & Climate Quiz corrections will be due no later than Friday, December 6th!
Homework –
12/4/19 – Work on your Weather Forecast Project – Part 3 – The Weather Report Video. The video will need to be filmed and edited by the end of class tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 5th). We’ll be presenting and watching our weather forecast videos in class on Friday, December 6th.
12/5/19 – Work on your Weather Forecast Project – Part 3 – The Weather Report Video. The video will need to be filmed and edited by the end of class TODAY – Upload your video to Google Classroom, share it with Miss R. in Google Drive, or export it and email it to Miss R. We’ll be presenting and watching our weather forecast videos in class tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 6th).

7th Grade ELA –
This week, we’ll be working on our argumentative & persuasive literature unit. Students will read, write, and evaluate different forms of argumentative and persuasive texts, including non-fiction literature, news articles, informational texts, debates, and transcripts. During this unit, students will also write arguments and counter-arguments that involve citing claims, evidence, and reasoning. Over the course of the next week, students will begin writing and revising their final argumentative essay – this will be a full 5-paragraph essay. Students should also begin working on Book Project 2 will be due on Thursday, January 23rd. All of the Book Project 2 instructions, details, deadlines, and the rubric are available in Google Classroom.

12/4/19 – Finish your argumentative essay body paragraph 3 (counterargument) final draft – it is due in Google Classroom by the end of class tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 5th)!
12/5/19 – Finish your argumentative essay conclusion paragraph final draft – it is due in Google Classroom by the end of class tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 6th)!
12/6/19 – Upload your argumentative essay conclusion paragraph final draft to Google Classroom by the end of class TODAY (Friday, Dec. 6th) & work on Book Project #2 (Due Thursday, January 23rd)!

8th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be exploring and developing our computational thinking, design, programming, and web development skills, to solve academic puzzles and real-world problems. We’ll also explore web-based presentation software and create an iMovie video based on the work of a famous inventor. Famous inventor iMovie projects will be due by the end of class on Thursday, so we can watch the presentation videos in class on Friday. Due to the short timeline of this project, late assignments will not be accepted for credit!
Homework –
12/4/19 – Work on your famous inventor iMovie project – The project must be finished and uploaded to Google Classroom (or shared with and emailed to Miss R.) by the end of class tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 5th)! Presentation video viewing will take place in class on Friday!
