6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be focusing our efforts on preparing for the Science Fair that will take place in May 2019. During this time, students will study the scientific method, examine the parts of a science fair display board, discuss lab reports, practice data organization and graphing, and gather research.
Homework –
2/6 – No Homework – Snow Day
2/7 – Complete your Annotated Bibliography Worksheets for Sources 1, 2 & 3
2/8 – Begin gathering materials for your Science Fair experiment and start the experimentation process at home. From here on, most of your Science Fair work will be carried out at home, but we will have additional checkpoints along the way in class to ensure that you are completing your tasks and preparing your display board. The Science Fair will take place in May 2019.
7th Grade STEM Apps –
This week, the 7th grade students will be putting their 2-D and 3-D modeling skills to the test by kicking off a Lego Dissection project. Students will gain practice with isometric and multi-view sketching, and they will begin organizing and categorizing data.

2/6 – No Homework – Snow Day
2/7 – Continue working on your Lego Dissection Project – Part 1 is due tomorrow. Be sure to upload your work to Google Classroom by 2:15pm on Friday, Feb 8th.

8th Grade STEM Apps –
The 8th grade students will begin brainstorming and gathering ideas for the 8th grade Design Fair, which will take place in May 2019. During this time, students will explore topics, conduct research, and identify a real-world problem that will kick off their own Engineering Design Process.

2/7 – Continue working on your Finding & Organizing Sources (Articles & Websites) Worksheets. This assignment is due at the end of class tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 8th).
