6th Grade Science –
This week, we’ll be focusing on our heat, temperature, and thermal energy unit. We’ll continue to explore the topic of thermal energy in discussions, activities, and experiments over the next few weeks. Students should also spend some time reviewing our science glossary (vocab) terms and reviewing their notes to prep for our next quiz on Monday, Oct 15th.
Homework –
10/9 – Complete the Temp, Thermal Energy & Heat Guided Reading Worksheet #1-18.
10/10 – Complete your C-E-R worksheet (Thermal Energy Transfer) & study your science glossary terms (vocab), class notes, and homework to prep for the quiz on Monday, Oct 15th.

STEM Apps –
This week, we’ll be working on our Future City unit, where students will be challenged to address global issues and come up with feasible solutions as they work in teams to design and create a city 100+ years ahead of our time. As we continue our research of natural disasters, we’ll be working on a 2-paragraph essay to detail our findings. Each paragraph will need to be 4-6 sentences long. The final, typed & printed draft of this essay will be due on Monday, Oct 15th.
Homework –
10/9 – Finish two research organizer worksheets – one for each natural disaster you are focusing on.
10/10 – Finish your Future City two-paragraph essay rough draft. We’ll be using this draft for a writer’s workshop/peer editing session on Thursday.
