Bellwork gave students practice writing an explicit formula for a sequence and using this formula to predict the 40th term.  Students also practiced finding Domain and Range.

This semester we are testing out a new publisher of Algebra 2 to see if we are interested in purchasing it in order to replace the old textbooks we’ve been using for over 10 years.  This curriculum is called Agile Mind.  It has many online components as well as paper/pencil components.  Students will often be working on Student Activity Sheets (SAS) which they will usually be given paper copies of.  These can also be found online.  There will also be several “animations” to show the students in order to present material as well as pose questions for them to answer.  These can also be found online.

Today we began Topic 1:  Arithmetic and Geometric Series and Sequences.  Students were given a copy of SAS1 and we worked though the first four questions.

Tomorrow students will be given an Agile Mind Scavenger Hunt in order to explore the resources available to them on the Agile Mind website.  They will be given a username and password to access the Agile Mind website.

There was no homework assigned today.  Click on the links below for a copy of today’s bellwork with answers, a copy of SAS1, and notes/examples from today’s lesson:
