1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours

Bellwork gave students practice on SAT-style math questions.

Hwk #24 is due today.

The remainder of the period we discussed Sec 6-1, Polynomial Functions.  We discussed finding the Degree and Leading Coefficient of a Polynomial and how Polynomials are named by both their Degree and the Number of Terms.

Hwk #25.     Due date still to be determined.

4th & 5th Hours:

Bellwork reviewed graphing a system of inequalities, finding the coordinates of the solution region, and determining which of these coordinates maximizes or minimizes a given quantity.  Bellwork also gave students practice writing a system of inequalities given a real-life situation.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing Sec 3-4, Linear Programming.

Hwk #18 is due tomorrow.   Sec 3-4

Page 142.   Problems 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 18 (Students are to use graph paper for problems 6, 8, 9, 18)

Next Hwk:

Hwk #19.  Sec 3-4  Due date is still to be determined.

Page 143.   Problems 11 & 20  (students will need graph paper for this assignment too).
