Grading Policies

I have been getting a lot of questions about how to figure out your grade. I purposefully hid your letter grade on Student Connect because it is still calculating grades as A-E, even though you can only receive an A, a G, or an N. I didn’t want to cause even more confusion.

To figure out your grade on Student Connect, you have to look at what grades you are getting on the assignments (starting with April 20). If you received…

  • Mostly 2s on at least 75% of the assignments, you are on track to get an A in the course.
  • Mostly 1s and 2s on 60-74% of the assignments, you are on track to get a G in the course. You will receive credit for the course, but it will not count towards your GPA.
  • Mostly 0s and 1s on your assignments, you are on track to get a N in the course. You will have to retake the course during the summer or in night school.
  • 2 means that the assignment was completed and of passing quality
  • 1 means that the assignment was attempted, but needs revision is required to be of passing quality
  • 0 means that the assignment was not attempted

These grades are simply to communicate to you and your families how you are progressing. Remember that grades will be different this semester. You will only receive an A, G, or an N.

    1. If you have all 2s, you would get an A in the class.

If you have all 1s (and maybe a few 2s), you would get a G in the class. You get credit, but if won’t affect your GPA.It is not failing, and you will NOT have to retake this class.

A mixture of 1s and 0s will get you a N, which is failing. You WILL have to retake the class.
