Econ 1: Moving Forward After the Chapter 1 Test

If you were absent for the test, it is your responsibility to schedule a make-up quiz.

From the syllabus:

“If you miss a quiz, you must arrange to make it up within 48 hours of your return to school—failure to do so will result in a 0. If you miss an appointment for a make-up quiz, you will receive a 0. ”

If you are unsatisfied with your grade, you are able to do a re-take.

From the syllabus:

You are able to retake any summative quiz or test (excluding formative mini-quizzes) to improve your understanding of the content and the score. In order to qualify for a retake, you must:

1. Fill out the retake form (available on the blog).

2. Show 3 artifacts that prove that you tried to improve your understanding (see the blog for a list of ideas).

3. Turn in the completed form to Ms. Pius.

4. Retake will occur 48 hours after the retake form is submitted.

Ms. Pius reserves the right to deny a retake request or change the format of the retake (although the content will stay the same).

Possible artifacts for understanding include, but are not limited to:

  1. Reread the section and create a thinking map for the information you need to relearn.
  2. Add to (or correct) your original notes with a different color pen. Highlight important pieces of information from your original notes.
  3. Draw diagrams or pictures that help you better understand the information.
  4. Create flashcards for key ideas/vocabulary (or a Quizlet deck).
  5. Write a practice quiz for yourself (or with a friend).
  6. Retake the practice quizzes on iLearn.
  7. Take of picture of yourself studying the information with a friend.
  8. Come to afterschool tutoring.
  9. Do the practice problems from the textbook.
  10. Print the assignments from the blog and redo them.
  11. Take notes on YouTube videos (especially AC/DC Econ)
