We will be going to the library to check out new books tomorrow. Please bring back your old ones so that you can enjoy some new ones. I always love getting new books from the library and I hope you do too!
And the Winner is….
Youssef Baiz! He read the most minutes in the entire second grade during the “March is Reading Month” competition. As a matter of fact, he read the most minutes in the entire school! Music Concert Today at 2:15!
Just a friendly reminder that your child will be performing in a music concert today at 2:15 in the small gym. A note went home last week. The concert will start at 2:15 so if you are planning on attending, you might want to get there a few minutes early to get a great seat! I hope to see you there if you can make it:) It will be a great performance!
Media Center Tomorrow!
Since we missed our media check-out day, we will be going to the library tomorrow to check out books. Please bring your library books to school tomorrow so you can enjoy new ones!
Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a wonderful time on the field trip today to the Michigan Science Center. The students really enjoyed the imax theater about National Parks where they were able to see the different landforms we have been learning about in science and pictures of the past which tied nicely to what we were learning about in social studies. Also, kids learn about electricity, magnets, nitrogen, and many more things throughout the day. Don’t forget to ask your child what they learned, and what their favorite part of the field trip was.
Since we were on a field trip and “Family Reading Night” is tonight, I decided not to give my “Awesome Aviators” homework tonight. They still will have a spelling test tomorrow though. See you tomorrow, Awesome Aviators!!
March is Reading Family Fun Night is tonight!
Join us for a night of fun to celebrate March is Reading Month. The activities will be from 5:00-7:00 and they include a guest reader, Book Walk, Quiz Games, Arts and Crafts, Basket Raffle, Face Painting, Selfie Station, and Balloon Animals. Now…..doesn’t that sound exciting! I think it sounds like a blast!
Come dressed as a famous star, athlete, or singer to help us celebrate Reading with the Stars! All money raised goes to our PBIS fund. I sure don’t want to miss a exciting night of activities, and I hope to see my “Superstars” enjoying a wonderful night of activities, too! See you tonight:)
MIchigan Science Field trip tomorrow!
All the students are very excited about the field trip tomorrow!! Please make sure your child brings a lunch to school tomorrow because we will not be at school to get lunch from the cafeteria. In order to help make lunch run smoothly and to make sure your child receives the correct lunch, please write your child’s name on their bagged lunch. If you your child’s lunch is in a paper bag, just write their name right on the bag. If you put your child’s lunch in a plastic bag, you can put a piece of masking tape on it and write their name on the tape or write it on a piece of paper and then tape it securely to the bag.
I am looking forward to a great day of learning about science! Don’t forget to ask your child what they learned at the Michigan Science Center when they get home from school tomorrow!!
Also, thanks to all the parents that volunteered to be a chaperone on our awesome field trip tomorrow. Your child brought home a note today regarding the time you should meet us in our classroom. Just in case you don’t get it tornight, I would love it if you could be here at 8:30. Just check in the office and then come down to room 112. I will be seeing you at 8:30. Thanks again!

Math in a Flash Bonus Week
This week will be a bonus week for “Math in a Flash” test. What does this mean? This means if your child passes their test this week, I will give them another test. They will be able to keep taking tests as long as they passed them. We will take these tests on Thursday of this week. Remember you can practice by using the flashcards I gave you and by going on Math Magician. Here is the link:
https://www.oswego.org/ocsd-web/games/Mathmagician/cathymath.html or go to Google and type Math Magician in the address bar. The first one is the correct website. This is an awesome website to practice. Good Luck everyone!
If you solve on the top of your homework this question tonight, you will earn something special. Shh….don’t tell anyone else!!! Here is the problem: 32 + 41 + 27 =
