Book Orders Due Tomorrow!

Just a friendly reminder that if your child would like to order some books, the book order is due tomorrow.  Also, if you have not turned in your emergency card, please turn it in tomorrow.  It is very important for us to be able to contact you.  Thanks to everyone who have turned in their emergency cards.

Tomorrow we will be going to the library to check out books for the first time this year.  Yay!    The books will be due back in 2 weeks.   Elementary students check out books the first and third full week of the month.  The middle school students check out books the 2nd and 4th week of the month.  I wish we could check out books every week but we are given a schedule of the days we can go and check the books out.

If you would like to bring your child to the Dearborn Library, I’m sure your child would love to pick out new books to bring home to read.  If you do not have a library card, they are free and I would like to encourage you to get one.  When my own daughters were in elementary and middle school, I would take them to the library at least once a week.  I can remember how they always looked forward to going and picking out their new books and I bet your child would, too!

Homework Reminder!

A great big thanks to everyone who turned in their homework today!  You rock!  Unfortunately, we had a lot of students who did not turn in their homework this morning.  Please make sure your child turns in their homework everyday.  Homework is important because it reviews concepts that we are learning in class and it allows you to see what your child is learning.

Your child will have a math and language arts homework everyday unless I post on the blog that there is no homework today.  I know that we can get 100% of the students to turn in their homework tomorrow!

Have a great evening and thanks for everything that you do to help your child be successful:)

Homework Due Tomorrow!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend!  I just wanted to let you know that there is math and language arts homework tonight.  Homework is given to reinforce concepts being learned in school.  The best way to help your child with homework is to have them complete it without your help.  Then, sit down with your child and go over the answers. If one is incorrect, take a few minutes to explain to them how to do it and have them write the correct answer.  This is the best way to do homework with your child because it allows them to complete it independently and receive extra help if they need it.

Homework is due tomorrow and needs to be turned in. In math, students will need to complete the number line.  Numbers are constantly repeating themselves.  In language arts, students will need to circle the letter that needs to be capitalized in the sentence.  Then find where that letter goes in the space above.  Finally, whatever the answer is to the riddle, they must draw a picture of it in the space provided.

Book Orders went home today.  This is a great way to motivate your child to read at home every night!  I always loved getting new books and I bet your child will, too!Image result for books
