Thank You!

A great big thanks goes out to the following parents who chaperoned our trip to the Dearborn Fire Safety House last Thursday…..Rewa’s mom, Aya’s mom, Fatima N’s dad, and Michael’s dad!   It was a great field trip because it allowed the children to practice getting out of a house if it is burning.  I hope they will never have to use the skills they learned last week!

Let’s Stay on Green!

Practice is now over for the “Behavior Charts”, If your child changes their name from now on, it will count.  Please remember to sign their behavior chart every night.  It is a school rule that if they don’t have it signed, they must change their name.  I would hate for anyone to have to change their name because it wasn’t signed.  I know everyone will make great choices and stay on green!  I hope our class will have the most students at the “Reward Party” at the end of the month!

Spelling Test Tomorrow

We are having a spelling test tomorrow.  Please remember that the words I gave you are not going to be your spelling words.  If I gave you the word mat, I will say, if you can spell the word mat, then you can spell the word that.  Please spell the word that.  The reason I do this is to check to see if the kids really know how to spell the words instead of just memorizing them.  This is difficult at first but they will catch on quickly.  After they get the hang of doing spelling this way, I think you will agree, it will make them a better speller!  Don’t forget to write each word 3 times and circle the vowels on the back of your math homework.  Study hard tonight and good luck tomorrow!

Open House

Whew!  We missed the worst part of the storm yesterday.  I want to thank all the parents who came to Open House last night.  I loved seeing so many faces that I recognized because I have had a child of yours in the past or maybe a niece, nephew, or neighbor.  I also enjoyed talking with all my new parents this year.  I know it is going to be a fantastic year!  Please remember that if you ever have any questions or concerns that I am always available.
